Angel & Gloria Leiva
Sharing Christ in the Dominican Republic
Angel and Gloria Leiva are currently missionaries with EFM serving in the Dominican Republic. After arriving in February 2018, they have been visiting the churches to know them better, preaching and teaching the word of God. They are currently working to develop spiritual leaders willing to serve the Lord and to increase spiritual growth in each of the churches. They want to expand the work of Holiness in the Dominican Republic.
Bro. Angel was born in Colinas Santa Barbara, Honduras. He was saved in 1987. His wife Gloria Rose was born in San Luis, Honduras and was saved in 1983.
In 1988 Bro. Angel was baptized as a member of the Emmanuel church. He began singing in a trio at the church. This ministry gave him the opportunity to minister in evangelistic campaigns and special worship services in other Emmanuel churches in Honduras for the next several years. He also developed by preaching the Word of God in various places near Santa Barbara.
At the end of 1988, he received the direct call to prepare for pastoral ministry and came to the Bible Institute in San Luis in 1989, studying there four years.
It was while he was at the Bible Institute that God gave him the blessing of getting to know Miss Gloria Rosa, who is his wife today. She was also called by God to prepare and to serve and was studying at the Emmanuel Bible Institute in the 1988.
Angel served as a pastor in two churches during his time as a student while Gloria served as a children’s teacher in various places.
For the next few years after graduating in 1990, Angel and Gloria pastored in three different churches in Honduras. Later he served as a teacher in the Bible Institute in San Luis for 2 years. He served several years on the Emanuel National Church Board for Honduras and was later elected as the president of the Emmanuel Church Association in Honduras; he served in that position for eight years. He also served as administrator of “Star of Prayer Radio” in San Pedro Sula, the radio ministry of the national church, and he served as a district church supervisor on two different occasions.
Angel and Gloria are blessed with four children: Kendy, 24; Andry, 22; Keidy, 19; Gerardo, 18, and they are all active in their ministry.
