“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Chinese Proverb
We are excited that the DeLong family has arrived for their first term of service as missionaries in Bolivia with EFM.
The journey to Bolivia has been filled with many opportunities and challenges for Stephen and Yvonne DeLong. They became missionaries under appointment with EFM after being approved by the EFM’s missions board in January 2016. They are excited to get started! Their last post before leaving the U.S. read, “Farewell for now to the USA. Our 2 years of preparation is now happening. Next stop…La Paz, Bolivia!”
Special thanks to everyone who partnered with us in making this become a reality. Placing a missionary family in a foreign country for an extended period, caring for their needs as they work to disciple others is a huge undertaking. They were able to go because you gave!
We are excited to see how God is going to use their family in this next chapter of their lives.
For the next few years, Boliva will be their home. Pray that God will help them to adjust to a new country, a new church, and new friends.
Their children are Hannah, 12, Daniel,10, and Jonathan, 1. Please keep them in your prayers.
The trip to Bolivia included three flights and lasted nearly 17 hours. The DeLong family arrived early on January 11, 2018.
And now a new journey begins! You can keep up with their story by following them on Facebook.
For the next four years, they will be working with our national leaders to make the ministry there stronger. They will be working to develop leaders, and they will be helping these leaders find ways to work with several struggling churches and revitalize the ministry training institute.
A New Congregation
They have hit the ground running! After less than a week in the country, they hosted a group in the apartment where they are staying, assisting some of the people who have been trying to get a church started again at the mission property.
